Icosa is an example of a decentralized protocol which expands the boundaries of the Hedron ecosystem by adding new staking and reward models based on both HDRN and HEX tokens. It features ICSA reward payouts accompanying HDRN staking, an innovative buy-back mechanism in which users can sell their HSI HEX stakes to Icosa and receive ICSA in return, and auctioned stakes which provide users the ability to repurchase their stakes. The dual-yield ICSA staking is the defining characteristic of Icosa; users can now stake ICSA in exchange for additional HDRN and ICSA rewards which are collected from daily burned HDRN and penalties. The purpose of this strategy is for the holders, as the value and scarcity of HDRN may increase as a result of the burn mechanisms. A new angle is also offered by Icosa in a form of a special private time-limited staking pool; this exclusivity alongside the prospect of the pool maturing and closing to additional participants increases the potential yields. This form of scarcity, in addition to the promised buy-back HSI stake auction, increases the certainty of reward and security for loyal long-term users of the protocol.
