Ponder is a maps application with a focus on improving routing using decentralized technology. Ponder uses blockchain technology to solve problems of privacy and data ownership which are very common with conventional mapping services. Users are able to control their place data which allows for safer navigation. In addition, Ponder uses a participatory model which enables users to make changes and improvement to the map. This system not only allows users to collaborate, but also has a verification system to guarantee the reliability and trustworthiness of the data. Ponder also stands out to other mapping services because of their unique user engagement model. Ponder uses blockchain to provide services that other mapping services do not offer which are paying users for their engagement. Unlike other mapping services, Ponder pays users for their engagement, which is a departure from conventional user contributed mapping. Thus, Ponder is redefining mapping services with privacy and contribution in mind. Through the use of blockchain, the mapping services are continuously updated, trustworthy, and protect user privacy and contribution.
